Abstract: 

An elliptic curve is the simplest example of a Calabi-Yau manifold. In this seminar I will discuss how the predictions of Mirror Symmetry can be rigorously stated and proven when the target is indeed an elliptic curve. In particular the main result is the connection between counting covers of an elliptic curve and modular forms
