Abstract:

By simply adding the cotangent bundle to the usual tangent
bundle, generalized geometry provides a novel approach to differential
geometry. For instance, generalized complex geometry includes and goes
beyond complex and symplectic geometry. Still, generalized complex
structures can be defined only on even dimensional manifolds. In this
talk we will show how generalized geometry can be easily adapted to fit
generalized complex structures on odd manifolds and what other
structures come in the same pack.
