Mathematics

Much of the recent flurry of work on exact solutions in gauge theory has relied on the impetus provided by holography and Seiberg-Witten theory, both famously giving rise to integrable systems. We give a brief overview of the latter theory. In this, first part, we will be discussing how to cook up N=2 D=4 SYM theories, what their dualities mean from a bird's eye view and how integrable systems "come alive" in the infrared.
