On Geometric Quantum Confinement in Grushin-Type manifolds

Abstract: 

In this talk I will introduce the problem of geometric quantum confinement in a class of two dimensional incomplete Riemannian manifold with metric of Grushin type. I will present a characterisation of the regimes in presence or absence of such a phenomenon obtained combining a constant-fibre direct integral scheme and Weyl's analysis on each fibre. This is a joint work with E. Pozzoli and A. Michelangeli.
