Abstract:
We will review the construction of the Leray-Serre spectral sequence, which relates the homology of the total space of a fibration with the homology of the base with local coefficients system given by the homology of the fibers. We will also see an application to prove the vanishing of certain homology groups of the moduli space of curves M_g,n.
