The matrix-resolvent method to tau-functions and its applications

Abstract: 

Matrix-resolvents are classical objects in integrable systems. Recently, they were used to give an efficient algorithm of computing logarithmic derivatives of tau-functions. In this talk, we will consider three applications of this algorithm. The first one considers computing various enumerative invariants by deriving their generating series. In the second and the third applications, we will present recent results of Boris Dubrovin. The talk is based on a series of joint works with Marco Bertola and Boris Dubrovin, and on two very beautiful preprints of Dubrovin, arXiv:1807.03377 and arXiv:1807.11258.
