Abstract:
Type IIA and type IIB superstrings can be described, at low energy, by type IIA and IIB supergravities. In this talk, after a brief review of these theories, I am going to compute the bosonic field content of their compactification on a Calabi-Yau threefold with vanishing first Betti number. I will then comment the obtained result connecting it to mirror symmetry and to the existing relation between superstrings and topological strings.
