The seminar summarises part of the modelling and simulation work carried out in the framework of  “Seakeeping Of Planing Hull YAchts” SOPHYA project. After a brief introduction to the project, we present strategies for the geometrical deformation of the naval hull, with particular focus to the implementation aspects. We then focus on the estimation of the hydrostatic coefficients, directly obtained from the CAD geometry files. Future steps of the project and new perspectives will be finally discussed.
